KIO says it will not participate in SAC's peace talks

The Central Committee of Kachin Independence Organization (KIO) announced in a statement today that in regards to the peace talks organized by State Administrative Council (SAC) Chairman Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, the KIO will only participate in such talks when all stakeholders are able to participate and meet on equal footing. 

The statement mentions that the KIO is aware of the SAC Chairman's speech, which was aired on state-owned TV on April 22nd. Moreover, they[KIO] also received an invitation letter by Lt-Gen Min Naung on May 2nd in regards to the peace talks with the leaders of ethnic armed organizations (EAO).

The statement also mentions that the KIO does not believe "all stakeholders were not invited to the peace talks." The KIO also believes that "there is no intentions to discuss and resolve political issues."

Therefore, the KIO says it will only participate in the peace talks when all the relevant stakeholders are able to participate and discuss the issues of the country on an equal footing..
