Inland Water Transport (IWT) introduced “Tayza” vessel as a river cruise ship for a package tour in Yangon River.

The introduction ceremony of “Tayza '' vessel is held at No.5 Jetty in Bothahtaung on February 14.

The cruise ship is a T-Class vessel and has 93.48 feet in length, 21.6 feet in width and 7.2 feet in height. It can accommodate 120 passengers and can run in 10 nautical miles per hour downstream and 6 nautical miles per hour in upstream. The vessel was transformed into a cruise ship in May 1955.

Entertainment activities such as parties, events, wedding receptions and birthday parties and various food, drinks and desserts will be included in the buffet.

Charges are Ks245,700 for silver package, Ks287,700 for gold package and Ks529,200 for platinum package. Additional one hour charge is Ks50,000 per hour.

The IWT is a government owned department which is providing public transport and chartered services to Twantay are available.

The IWT has its own shipyards in Yangon: Dagon Seikkan and Dala. Dala shipyard is the oldest shipyard owned by the IWT and it has Mandalay Yadanapon shipyard, Monywa Chindwin shipyard, Thanlwin-Mottama shipyard and Sittwe shipyard.

Dagon Seikkan shipyard built three new vessels owned by the department in 2018-19 FY. It also repaired eight ships in 2018-19 FY.

The IWT is providing services with six divisions to carry cargos and passengers regionally.

The six shipyards are repairing and building ships in line with rules and regulations set by the IWT.

New ships are being built at the shipyards to replace old ships owned by the IWT using state owned budget in 2018-19 FY.
