THIMPHU (Kuensel/ANN) - Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bhutan on August 18 for a two-day state visit, Prime Minister Dr Lotay Tshering said at ‘meet the press’ on July 26.

He said the foreign ministry is working with the Indian embassy to discuss and confirm activities during the visit.

According to the Prime Minister, during the two-day visit, PM Narendra Modi will interact with a youth group and visit few religious sites among others.

“The itinerary is not yet confirmed but there are four to five memoranda of understanding to be signed and few major projects to be declared. We are working on the details but it keeps changing,” Dr Lotay Tshering said.

In 2014, after winning the elections, Prime Minister Modi visited Bhutan as the first foreign destination.
