Illegal Chinese migrants caught in Muse

21 Chinese illegal migrants were exiled back to China at about 1.30pm on 21st Oct. at the bridge inspection gate between Tarlon village and Kaungkhar village, Muse township, northern Shan State.    

They came on a 12-wheeled Mitsubishi FUSO truck, hidden among synthetic meat bags, coming to Muse and going towards Kutkai at the bridge inspection gate between Tarlon village and Kaungkhar village, Muse township at 4pm on 30th July. 

There were 19 men and a woman that were found without any documents or permits. In addition, there was one Chinese man found on 14 Oct. in front of Muse hospital without any documented evidence, thus bringing the number of illegal immigrants to 21.     

As they were found to come in illegally they were booked under the 1947 Imnigration Act, section 3 (1)/13 (1), and were exiled as per Immigration Act 7(1).  They were tested for COVID-19 by Muse District Health Department and were found to be Negative. They were then handed back to China in accordance with the requirements.     

The truck driver along with three Myanmar passengers were also booked under the 1947 Immigration Act. From 1st Jan. 2020 to 21 Oct. 300 illegal Chinese immigrants in Muse District have been taken into custody.
