Humanitarian aid supplies from China and Pakistan arrived in Myanmar on April 6 to assist victims affected by the recent powerful earthquake.

Due to the earthquake, severe damage was reported across multiple regions including Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Northern Shan State, Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, and Bago Region. In response, China sent a cargo flight carrying humanitarian aid, which landed at Yangon International Airport yesterday morning. The shipment included 3,288 kg of medical supplies and respiratory equipment. The aid was received by U Than Soe, Director of the Yangon Region Department of Disaster Management.

Similarly, Pakistan sent its second batch of humanitarian and medical aid for the earthquake victims. This shipment also arrived at Yangon International Airport on the morning of April 6. It contained a total of 31,301 kg of relief supplies, including rainproof tents, personal hygiene kits, tarpaulins, medicines, and ready-to-eat meals (MREs).

Upon arrival, the Pakistani aid was welcomed by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, senior military officers, H.E. Mr. Imran Haider (Ambassador of Pakistan to Myanmar), embassy officials, and representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Strategic Studies and Training Department, and the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement.

The aid materials from both China and Pakistan were then loaded onto designated vehicles by military personnel, Yangon City Development Committee staff, and local cargo workers. Under the supervision of the Yangon Region Government, the supplies were transported onward to Nay Pyi Taw for distribution to the affected areas.
