A disabled child was killed in a fire that broke out in a house in Nwaku Village in Magway Township, Magway Region, at about 1pm today, initial report said. 

The fire broke out at in a house roofed with corrugated iron sheets and walled by bamboo matting, located near the right side of Magway-Taungdwingyi Road, and a child suffering from polio died. 

The dead body was sent to Magway People’s Hospital in an ambulance of KS social welfare association based in Magway. The fire was put out by neighbourhood residents and firefighters, and it did not spread to other houses.

Relevant authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
