Health assistant’s house attacked with small weapons, grenade in Bilin Township

The house of a rural healthcare assistant in Ywalay (North) Village, Zokthot Village-tract, Bilin Township, Mon State, was attacked with small weapons and a grenade around 8pm on July 9, local sources said.

According to a local villager, some gunmen fired small weapons about five times at the house of U Ngwe Kyi working as a civil servant with a rank of healthcare assistant.

“They also threw a homemade bomb into the house. But it didn’t explode. After that, authorities came to the house for clearance,” he said.

There were no casualties, but some bullet holes were found at the house.  

On the night of May 22 also, the house of Village Union Solidarity and Development Party chair U Kyaw Kyaw located in the same village was attacked with a grenade. Again, on the morning of May 23, a fuel shop in front of his house was attacked with a grenade. Due to the bomb attack, the glass and machine parts were destroyed, local sources said.
