A hand grenade explosion occurred at the District Information and Public Relations Department office in Myingyan, Mandalay Region, on the evening of November 2, according to reports.

The blast took place in Ward No. 5 of Myingyan Township. Security personnel who arrived to investigate found that two members of the People’s Defense Force (PDF) had reportedly arrived at the District Information and Public Relations Department office on a motorcycle, thrown a hand grenade, and fled the scene.

The grenade exploded about 20 feet behind the office building, shattering 21 windowpanes but causing no injuries.

Security forces are conducting an investigation to identify and take effective legal action against those responsible, according to the reports.
