According to Khaosod English, a Thailand-based news agency, four Myanmar women and two Chinese nationals have been arrested for working illegally at a beauty salon in Bangkok.

The arrests took place when Thailand’s Tourist Police and the Department of Employment conducted an inspection at the salon.

The beauty salon mainly catered to Chinese tourists, and among those arrested were two Chinese nationals—40-year-old Mr. Chen and 31-year-old Mr. Yang—along with four Myanmar women: 18-year-old Ma Lin, 20-year-old Ma May, 23-year-old Ma Kay, and 19-year-old Ma Maw.

The Thai government strictly prohibits foreigners from working in the beauty industry, reserving such jobs for Thai citizens only. As a result, the two Chinese nationals were charged with working illegally, while the Myanmar women were charged with illegal entry into Thailand.

All six individuals have been transferred to the relevant police station, and legal proceedings are underway, according to the news report.
