Foreign investments are fully permitted to large scale mining projects while small and medium scales are permitted to local investors.

Besides, proposals for the mining sector must be submitted to the Ministry for Resources and Environmental Conservation and the details can be obtained at the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration.

“In 2020, in my opinion, work proposals from last year will be permitted. Respective ministries are doing detailed investigating for mining sectors,” said That Zin Lwin, secretary of Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC).
