Few trades took place in the Myanmar-China border due to the current political crisis and basic commodities prices have risen according to traders in Muse.

“Due to the political situation in Myanmar, businesses are slow in export and import traders. In Maing Waing and Kyin San Kywat checkpoints, Myanmar trade cars were only driven into China by Chinese drivers. As a result, the numbers of vehicles are declining,” said Aung Min from Kyae Gaung.

In the 105 mile trade zone in Muse, trade has been halted as banks are closed according to the Muse 105 mile border trade zone.

In the past, about 1000 vehicles entered Myanmar-China border trade but the numbers have remarkably declined due to the current political situation in Myanmar. More than 1500 import-export vehicles were stopped at 105 mile trade zone and in Kyin San Kywat checkpoint; there were 150 vehicles and 70 vehicles in Maing Waing checkpoint.

The currency exchange of Chinese currency has been declining during these days and on February 14, one Chinese Ywan was equivalent to Ks.202.
