MANDALAY-----An explosion occurred near Gate No.3 of Defence Services Technological Academy (DSTA) in Pyin Oo Lwin Township, Mandalay Region, yesterday night and injuring one, sources said.

The unidentified motorcyclists attacked the DSTA’s entrance with homemade bomb and the dwellers from Pyin Oo Lwin Township heard the noise.

“The blast made a loud noise. Many people heard a noise of attack. We don’t know about the attack because the blast occurred during the curfew period. The police forces tighten security measures this morning. I think today is the Martyrs’ Day,” said the one of the locals from Pyin Oo Lwin Township.

After the explosion, fire emerged near police outpost in Ani Sakhan, Pyin Oo Lwin, say neighbouring residents.

“The gate of DSTA was attacked with two homemade bombs. One was wounded in the thigh. There was no damage,” said an official from DSTA.

Concerning the attack, the news saying that the entrance of DSTA was attacked with homemade bombs and at least three of security members died spread on the Facebook page. But, no one can confirm it.
