An explosion took place in Thaketa Township, and gunfire erupted near the township on the night of September 23.

The blast took place at the office of the education head on Ayeyarwon Road in Thaketa Township around 6:30 pm on September 23, according to residents.

Before the blast, about ten gunshots were heard near Thaketa Township.

"We first heard gunshots in the Thaketa Industrial Zone for ten times. After that, we heard an explosion. At around 7:30 pm, we saw several military vehicles and police cars enter into the road in front of Ayeyarwon City Mart in Thaketa," said a resident of Thaketa Industrial Zone.
