According to a report from the Myanmar Fire Services Department, a breach occurred in the embankment connecting Thitseintkon Village and Gwaytaungkwing Village in Thabaung Township.
The incident took place around 10 AM on July 22 in the Thitseintkon and Gwaytaungkwing villages of the Daikone Village Tract, Thabaung Township, Pathein District, Ayeyarwady Region. Following the breach, firefighters from the Thabaung Township Fire Station, along with volunteer firefighters and relevant organizations, collaborated to carry out sandbagging operations to mitigate the situation.
The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology has announced that the Ngawun River in Thabaung has reached about one foot above the danger level. As of 12:30 PM on July 23, the Ngawun River's water level in Thabaung was measured at approximately 20.34 feet (620 centimeters), exceeding the danger level by about one foot (33 centimeters). It is expected that the water level will remain above the danger level for the next three days.
