Due to a powerful earthquake, Ngwe La Min phone shop in Pyinmana, Nay Pyi Taw council area, collapsed, killing eight people, including two newborn babies, four family members of the shop owner, and two employees, according to a source close to the shop.

A witness reported that the victims' bodies were recovered on March 29, the day after the earthquake struck. The shop's collapse was exacerbated when a nearby tea shop's structure leaned onto it, causing debris to fall on those inside.

A customer was also present in the shop at the time of the incident, but their status remains unknown. Additional casualties were reported in the adjacent tea shop.

Efforts are ongoing to verify the exact number of victims.

Friends and acquaintances of the deceased have expressed their grief on social media, mourning the tragic loss of the family. The only surviving family member, an elder child, was away at school during the incident.
