The Ministry of Education donated drones and trolley robots to send in medicines and food to the Covid-19 patients receiving treatment at hospitals to the National Central Committee for Covid-19 Prevention, Control  and Treatment in Nay Pyi Taw on April 27.

Those drones and trolley robots were assembled by technological universities under the Ministry of Education under the instruction of the State Counsellor.

Rector Dr Kyi Thwin of Myanmar Aerospace Engineering University said using such equipment in sending medicines and food to patients and spraying disinfectants would reduce close contact between health staff and infected patients.

“By flying as high as 80 metres, speaker drones can educate people about preventive measures. We can hear in a radius of about one mile. We can play our pre-recording. This drone also has a camera. The drones can carry three kilograms. They can also spray disinfectants in places like markets. We don’t need to use much manpower. We donated these equipment in support of the preventive and control measures,” Dr Kyi Thwin.

Dr Thet Khaing Win, permanent secretary of the Ministry of Health and Sports praised and expressed thanks to all rectors, professors, faculty members and students from technological universities under the Ministry of Education.

“We are glad that using those drones and trolley robots will significantly reduce close contact between health staff and patients,” he said.
