Earthquake death toll reaches 3,085, injuries at 4,715, with 341 missing as of April 3: SAC

According to the statistics collected as of 8 am on April 3, there have been 3,085 deaths, 4,715 injuries and 341 missing people in all earthquake-affected areas nationwide.

“As of 8 am today, there have been 3,085 deaths, 4,715 injuries and 341 missing people due to the severe earthquake. We deeply mourn for the deaths, injuries and missing people,” said Maj. Gen. Zaw Min Tun, spokesman for the State Administration Council (SAC).

In terms of relief efforts in the earthquake-affected areas, a total of 59 aircraft have arrived from 17 countries, including Russia, China, India, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Vietnam, UAE, Laos, Belarus, Indonesia, Bhutan, Philippines, Japan, Nepal, Pakistan and China (Hong Kong), bringing relief supplies and rescue workers, Maj. Gen. Zaw Min Tun said.

Major General Zaw Min Tun said, “A total of 1,566 rescue workers are continuing to work in the earthquake-hit areas. 418 tons of supplies and 541 tons of relief materials have arrived. These are the aid that arrived by air. The relief work is still ongoing today. I would like to express my special gratitude for the efforts of international relief teams, the efforts of medical teams, and the assistance.”

Regarding the relief and relief supplies, he said he would like to request to the relevant countries to contact their embassies and officially contact the Disaster Management Team established under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for assistance. The government is actively carrying out disaster relief and rehabilitation work, and he said he would like to ask all the people to join hands in helping.
