Drop bomb attack in Bilin Township injures motorcyclist near GAD office

A drone attack in Bilin Township, Mon State, resulted in a bomb explosion near the General Administration Department (GAD) office compound, injuring a passing motorcyclist.

The incident occurred at around 9:00 AM on March 24, when an armed group launched a drop bomb attack using a drone, targeting the Bilin Township General Administration Office.

The bomb exploded between the flagpole and the office compound’s brick fence, according to a local resident.

 “At that moment, a man on a motorcycle was passing by in front of the office and was hit by bomb fragments on his hip, causing injuries,” the resident added.

The injured individual was immediately transported to Bilin Township Peoples Hospital for treatment and later discharged after receiving medical care.

The explosion caused minor damage to the brick fence surrounding the GAD office compound.

According to local sources, the Bilin Township GAD office has faced at least four previous drone bomb attacks since February 1, 2021, resulting in damage to the building.
