Independent candidate Su Su Nway made a complaint to various election commissions that when casting advance votes on senior citizens in Kha Lauk Kha Mei village, Nyaung Pin Thar village tract in Kawhmu Township, votes on constituencies were not collected fully.

He said a complaint was made to take action on the sub-election commission in Nyaung Pin Thar village tract.

“I submitted a complaint letter to the township election commission and sent copies to the district, region and Nay Pyi Taw township election commission.” said independent candidate Su Su Nway who will be competing in Kawhmu Township constituency no-1.

In Kha Lauk Kha Mei village, there are 27 eligible voters above 60 years of age. They gave advance votes on October 29 for only Pyithu Hluttaw. Village tract sub-election commission said to them that Amyothar Hluttaw and the regional parliament will need to vote again separately according to Su Su Nway.

On October 29 evening, Village tract sub-election commission members came and collected advance votes again to some out of 27 advance voters for the rest of the constituencies. At present, there were still 5 people who cast votes only for the Pyithu Hluttaw, she added. Upon her request, township sub-election commissions members will come to the village and investigate the matter.

The Union Solidarity and Development Party candidates also complained about the matter to the commission according to Su Su Nway.

In Kawhmu Township, four candidates will be competing for the election. Su Su Nway is a former political prisoner and democracy activist. She was released in 2011 and formed the Myanmar Farmers Union.
