Myanmar has enough fuel stocks because nearly 3 million gallons of fuel oil are currently being unloaded at Thilawa port in Yangon Region and more vessels carrying over 6 million gallons of fuel oil are coming, according to a statement released by the Supervisory Committee on Import, Storage and Distribution of Fuel Oil.
The committee is taking measures to ensure domestic sufficiency of fuel oil after scrutiny. On October 10, MT YU DONG Vessel was unloading 0.02 million gallons of 92 Ron and 2.80 million gallons of premium diesel while MT Bowmore Vessel was also unloading 0.14 million gallons of 92 Ron at the terminals of Thilawa port.
MT Aulac Vision Vessel carrying 2.9 million gallons of premium diesel and MT Yu Yi carrying 1.6 million gallons of diesel and 1.86 million gallons of premium diesel will be arriving soon to unload, said the statement guaranteeing enough domestic supply.
The statement also pointed out that local fuel prices had increased a little over the week due to global high prices.
The committee previously released statements announcing arrivals over 8 million gallons of diesel and petrol on September 28 and 5.05 million gallons more on October 3.
On October 11, local fuel prices were 2,800 kyats per liter of diesel, 2,025 kyats per liter of 92 Ron octane and 2,080 kyats per liter of 95 Ron octane.
On October 1, they were 2,460 kyats per liter of diesel, 2,045 kyats per liter of 92 Ron octane and 2,115 kyats per liter of 95 Ron octane.
