Clashes occurred at Thaketa Township on June 7

Clashes occurred at Myan Pyay 11 Street in Thaketa Township between two policemen and unknown men. According to unconfirmed sources, one was injured and one was dead.

“We heard the sound of gunfire in the morning.  One was sent to hospital and one was dead. After the exchange of fire, security had tightened in the area and searches were made,” said a local living in Thaketa Township.

Similarly, an explosion occurred at Daw Phawr May fish soup noodle shop  between Thumana road and Yan Pyay near no-2 market in Thaketa Township on June 6 afternoon.

On June 6 evening, an explosion occurred at a traffic control police checkpoint at the corner of Shwebonthar road and Anawrahta road in Pabedan Township in which a nearby shop was destroyed.

“It was a sonic bomb and the glass window of the shop was shattered,” said a local from Pabedan Township. After the explosion, security has beefed up in the area.

An explosion occurred near the One Stop Mart at the corner of Dhammayone street and Khapaung street in 11 ward, Hlaing Township on June 6 at 11:00 pm according to locals.

Yangon Region experienced a series of explosions since April. On May 15 evening, an explosion occurred at Denko petrol shop in North Okkalapa Township where a man came to fill petrol.

On May 27 morning, a ward administrator of Myan Pyay 20 street in Thaketa Township was killed by gunshot wound and at least 2 explosions occurred in the township. On June 1 and 2 evening, explosions happened five times in Mingalar Taungnyunt Township.
