Clashes broke out at the town center in Lamaing, Ye Township, Mon State, around 11:30 am on December 30 injuring a young girl and a police force member, according to locals.
Armed men attacked a vehicle where five policemen onboard near the Lamaing Pagoda in the town center, said a local.
“A policeman was injured and a young girl got gunshot wound in her thigh. She has undergone operation at the Lamaing district hospital,” said a local.
The armed men left the area after the attack with motorcycles. Security has been tightened at the Lamaing district hospital and the place where attack occurred, according to sources.
