Citizen investments exceed 20000 bln this FY

Till November, the total citizen investment reached Ks over 20,103 billion, with housing development, production, transport and communication, hotel and tourism and construction sectors topping the list, according to the figures released by Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC). 

The MIC had so far allowed 1,659 businesses across 11 sectors. 

The citizen investment in the housing development sector reached Ks 4669.049 billion,  Ks 3627.972 billion in the manufacturing sector, Ks 1013.801 billion in transport and communication sector, Ks 2031.084 billion in hotels and tourism sector, Ks 1120.797 billion in the construction sector. 

The industrial development sector saw Ks899.828 billion, livestock and fishery sector, Ks 370.259 billion, the mining sector, Ks 211.589 billion, the agricultural sector, Ks 88.747 billion and Ks 3256.842 billion in other sectors.. 

In 2015-16 FY, the total citizen investment exceeded Ks 11624 billion. During 44 months since the current government taking office, the citizen investment reached around Ks 8479 billion. 

In January 2017, the housing development sector overtook the manufacturing sector which topped the list of citizen investments.
