Mr. Nong Rong, China's Assistant Foreign Minister, has stressed the need for Myanmar to achieve reconciliation through dialogue by resolving disagreements under the constitution and legal framework of the country, according to a statement released by the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar.

The embassy also reported that the Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister made a visit to Myanmar from November 3 to 5, and during his stay he met with Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe and Deputy Minister U Lwin Oo.

Mr. Nong Rong said he hopes that Myanmar would promptly enjoy peace, stability and development. The country should pursue reconciliation through dialogue by resolving disagreements under the constitution and legal framework. Together with China, Myanmar should protect and maintain border stability and guarantee personal and property safety of the people living on the Chinese border.  He also spoke of the need to take effective measures to promote the security of Chinese citizens, organizations and projects in Myanmar. For its part, China wants to continue collaborating with Myanmar in fighting transnational crime such as online gambling and communication frauds, the Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister said.

Moreover, China greatly respects the development of China-Myanmar friendly neighboring relations, sticking to the idea of neighboring foreign affairs: friendship, honesty, mutual benefit, and inclusiveness. Together with Myanmar, China will implement the results of President Xi Jinping's 2020 historic Myanmar trip. By promoting "Belt and Road" cooperation, China will push for further deepening the effort to construct a China-Myanmar community, he added.

The Myanmar government further emphasized One China Policy and strongly supported China's attitude on issues relating to China's main interests, and global development. Together with China, Myanmar wishes to promote Myanmar-China Economic Corridor Cooperation by practically taking development measures, global security measures, and global cultural measures. Myanmar wants to maintain the China-Myanmar border stability by giving real protection to Chinese companies and employees. In cooperation with its neighbours such as China, Myanmar will create a good environment for regional development by continuing measures to promote joint law enforcement activities against online gambling and communication frauds, the statement said.

During the trip, Mr. Nong Rong visited the important projects sites related to "Belt and Road" such as the China-Myanmar oil and gas pipeline, and met with representatives of Chinese companies in Myanmar, said the embassy statement.
