China to donate assembled houses for Rakhine

YANGON- Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, also China’s State Councilor, signed an agreement to donate 1,000 Assembled Board Houses for Rakhine State, according to the announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on December 9th.

At the invitation of State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, also the Union Minister of Foreign Affairs, a delegation led by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi paid a 2-day official visit to Myanmar since December 7th.

A signing ceremony was held at Shwe San Eain Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw in the evening of December 7th.

Construction Union Minister Han Zaw and Deng Boqing, Vice-Chairman of China International Development Cooperation Agency, signed an agreement in front of the Union Minister of State Counsellor’s Office Kyaw Tint Swe and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

Likewise, the Chinese delegation led by Wang Yi met with President Win Myint at the Presidential Palace in Nay Pyi Taw on December 7th. On the occasion, both sides discussed boosting bilateral relationship, implementation of Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) work, celebration activities to mark the 70th Anniversary of the establishment of Myanmar-China diplomatic relations and high-level exchange visits.

Later, Wang Yi met with State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi at the Presidential Palace. The State Counsellor said that the 70th anniversary should be used to build high-level cooperation over the BRI and developing the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor.
