Shan Nationalities League for Democracy (SNLD) party has re-elected Chairman Sai Nyunt Lwin and 117 central committee members including 31 central executive committee members at the nationwide conference held from May 26 to May 27 according to SNLD party statement.
Among the 31 newly elected central executive committee members are Chairman Sai Nyunt Lwin, vice-chairman (1) and chairman of Shan South/Kayah headquarters Sai Kham Paingpha aka U Khin Maung Nyunt, vice-chairman (2) and chairman of Shan North headquarters Sai Hla Pe aka Lone Say Hum, general-secretary of the party Sai La aka Sai Leik, joint secretary (1) Sai Kyaw Nyunt, and joint secretary (2) Sai Sam Phut Sai.
SNLD party has laid down objectives to be carried out in the future. They are: to implement peaceful co-existence issued by CSSU on February 7, 2022, to stand from the Dhamma side in the rapidly changing politics, and in war-fare, to join hands with the partner organizations in the clashes broke out in Shan State and in the entire nation and for the national reconciliation, and to work for the eradication of dictatorship.
Moreover, SNLD also laid objectives for participation of all to obtain internal peace, to draw a national constitution which leads to federal democracy with partner organizations, to encourage for the upgrading of better education system, and to abolish COVID-19 and other pandemics.
Khun Tun Oo who served as a SNLD party chairman for over 30 years has retired in January, 2021. The-then Vice-chairman Sia Nyunt Lwin was elected as party chairman. At the current SNLD party conference, he was elected again as the party chairman.
