The Central Bank of Myanmar (CBM) sold more than $12.4 million and 38 million baht in the foreign currency market on October 10, with the exchange rate at 3,554 kyats per dollar. In October so far, over $26.3 million, 3.4 million yuan, and 60 million baht have been sold.
On October 2, CBM sold over 1.2 million yuan and 10 million baht. On October 3, nearly $800,000, 1.2 million yuan, and 1 million baht were sold. October 4 saw the sale of $13.1 million at 3,543 kyats per dollar, along with 2.8 million yuan. More than 10 million baht was sold on October 7. On October 9, the CBM sold 6.6 million yuan at 507 kyats per yuan.
Looking back to the end of September, CBM sold more than $13.16 million at a rate of 3,529 kyats per dollar on September 30. In total, September sales included significant amounts such as $23 million on September 23 and $13 million on September 25, contributing to a steady flow of foreign currency into the market.
Fuel oil companies also benefited from a $30 million sale in September via the FX Trading Platform. The bank has continued to sell foreign currency to stabilize the market amidst ongoing demand from various sectors.
