Car catches fire after about five blasts in Lanmadaw, explosion occurs at traffic police post at U Wisara Roundabout

A car caught fire after about five explosions at the corner of Pongyi Street and Strand Road in Landmadaw Township, Yangon, while anther explosion occurred at the traffic police post at U Wisara Roundabout this morning.

Nearby residents said they heard around five explosions from the car and it was blazing beside Kyauk Street between the Dala Bridge project site and the administrators office.

First blast started at about 7.45am and follow-up blasts came after 10 minutes. The car was burnt down, they added.  

One of the security troops had burns on his hands and legs while they were conducting checks.  

Moreover, an explosion occurred at the door of the traffic police post at the corner of U Htaung Bo Street and U Wisara Road in Dagon Township at about 6am today. The glass windows and door were destroyed.

On November 9 also, a bomb blast occurred on the railway tracks near Danyingon Railway Station in Insein Township while a homemade bomb was thrown from a Mark II into the traffic police office at the corner of Waizayanta Road and Gandama Street in Ward No.9, Mayangon Township. Security forces opened fire on the car, which was exploded and destroyed.
