Ayeyarwady Region Parliament to Seek Approval on Key Government Appointments

The Ayeyarwady Region Parliament is set to seek the assembly’s approval for nominations of regional government ministers, the Advocate General, the Auditor General, the Chief Justice, and judges at its session scheduled for tomorrow.

The move will take place during the fifth day of the first regular session of the third Ayeyarwady Region Hluttaw, to be held on April 7.

According to reports, the individual appointed as Chief Minister will submit proposals for the appointment of ministers to nine regional ministries. In addition, nominations for the positions of the Region’s Advocate General, Auditor General, and judges of the Regional High Court will be announced by the Speaker.

The Speaker will also announce the proposal submitted by the President regarding the appointment of the Chief Justice of the Ayeyarwady Region High Court.

Following the announcements, parliamentary representatives will hold discussions if necessary, and the Hluttaw will proceed to seek approval and make decisions on the proposed nominations.
