A Chinese chef who suddenly fell to the ground in a factory of Thilawa local industrial zone goes missing, and authorities are searching him for medical checkups, said Lower House MP Aye Mya Mya Myo from Kyauktan Township on the night of March 16. 

The MP received information from some locals on March 15 that a Chinese man fell unconscious at a textile factory and died on the way. Since then, authorities had started an investigation. 

“After reporting to the zone committee, a combined team comprising health officials and police launched searches and investigation. The township administrator informed us that they got a CCTV record,” the MP said. 

The Chinese chef is not dead and he was in Yangon, so two health officials planned to conduct health tests on him. However, tests failed as he did not show up. 

Aye Mya Mya Myo said that the Chinese man reportedly lived in Hlinethaya Township and how he entered Myanmar was unknown. She stressed the need to know his background history. 

“We informed the factory about it. The inability to contact him was not possible because he could be first contacted through WeChat or by phone. They don’t know his passport number. We need to know his background history,” she said

His whereabouts are still unknown until the night of March 16.
