Around 40,000 people in quarantine within Yangon Region

More than half of the COVID-19 confirmed patients are people who have contact with the confirmed patients and around 40,000 people including returnees from overseas countries are put in quarantine in Yangon Region, according to the Public Health Department of the region.

There are over 39,000 people in over 360 quarantine centers in Yangon Region, over 10,000 people in over 1100 quarantine centers in Bago Region, over 10,000 people in over 900 quarantine centers in Ayeyawady Region, over 4,400 people in over 590 quarantine centers in Magway Region, over 4,000 people in over 780 quarantine centers in Sagaing Region, over 3,200 people in over 340 quarantine centers in Kachin State, over 3,100 people in over 390 quarantine centers in Mandalay Region, over 1,800 people in over 250 quarantine centers in Kayin State, over 1,700 people in over 270 quarantine centers in Rakhine State, over 1,400 people in over 140 quarantine centers in Shan (south) State, over 1,300 people in over 150 quarantine centers in Taninthayi Region, over 1,300 people in over 30 quarantine centers in Mon State, over 1,000 people in over 440 quarantine centers in Shan (north) State, over 1,000 people in over ten quarantine centers in Nay Pyi Taw, over 500 people in over 20 quarantine centers in Shan (east) State, over 360 people in over 10 quarantine centers in Kayah State and over 300 people in over 20 quarantine centers in Chin State.

The Ministry of Health and Sports is arranging for people who are being put in quarantine, people who are in hospitals, healthcare workers and volunteers who are out of their constituencies to give vote in upcoming elections.

Union Minister for Health and Sports said guidelines and regulations are drawn by the ministry and Union of Election Commission led by State Counsellor for the voters to give vote on November 8 without COVID-19 infection and they are giving training for that. The State Counsellor attended voting demonstrations for two times and gave advice to the authorities for voters to give vote in line with COVID-19 regulations. They are arranging to obey guidelines and regulations to reduce the infection rate least in the upcoming election.
