A total of 526 houses were destroyed by fire due to armed conflict in Sagaing and Magway regions and Chin and Kachin states in 2022, announced the information team of the State Administration Council (SAC) on November 29.
According to a statement, 248 houses in Sagaing Region, 28 houses in Magway Region, 220 houses in Chin State and 30 houses in Kachin State were destroyed by fire due to armed conflict in 2022.
On November 27, 40 houses were destroyed by fire due to the armed conflict between the Tatmadaw and the KIA and PDFs in Inkyingone Village, Htigyaing Township, Sagaing Region, it said.
On November 26, 40 homes, six hand tractors, one threshing machine, 20 motorcycles, two generators and paddy were destroyed by fire in Supoke Village, Htigyaing Township, according to a statement from the SAC.
It stated that the security forces are investigating and identifying those who committed the above events in order to be able to take effective action in accordance with the law.
