The National Defence and Security Council has appointed new judges to the Supreme Court of the Union and approved the retirement of a regional high court judge on September 17.

Under Subsection (b) of Section 427 of the Constitution of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, U Win Myint, Daw Soe Khet Khet and Daw Thin Thin Cho have been appointed as Judges of the Supreme Court of the Union.

In addition, the Council has approved the retirement of U Nyo Tun, Judge of the Yangon Region High Court, due to health reasons, in accordance with the same constitutional provision.

The announcement was issued by order of Aung Lin Dwe, Secretary of the National Defence and Security Council.
