The Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to Myanmar, H.E. Mr. Azeddine Bechka, presented his credentials to Interim President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, on December 17 in Nay Pyi Taw, according to official sources.
The credential presentation ceremony was held at the Diplomatic Reception Hall of the National Defence and Security Council Office in Nay Pyi Taw.
Following the ceremony, the two sides held discussions on the longstanding and friendly diplomatic relations between Myanmar and Algeria, as well as ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation. Talks also covered opportunities to expand collaboration in trade, economic development, and tourism.
In addition, the discussions touched on Myanmar’s political developments and plans to hold a free and fair multiparty democrcy general election in the near future, the sources said.
Also, present at the ceremony were Commission Secretary General Ye Win Oo, Commission Member and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe, and Director-General U Than Htwe of the Protocol Department.
