The Chinese Embassy in Myanmar released a press release on December 14, saying that the Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning said that an agreement was reached between the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) of the State Administration Council (SAC) and Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA), Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) and Arakan Army (AA) to maintain a temporary ceasefire in the talks.

At a press conference held on December 14 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, the spokesperson of the Tatmadaw said that with the help of China, the Myanmar government has implemented a peace talk with the MNDAA, TNLA and AA and Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning said this when she was being asked whether the meeting with was held and whether or not the Chinese side could confirm the matter and how it would like to comment.

Mao Ning said that China has always clearly supported the peace process in northern Myanmar and is always working to support and facilitate dialogue between the relevant parties in Myanmar. Since the start of the Operation 1027 in northern Myanmar, China has been making continuous efforts to negotiate a ceasefire with the relevant parties in Myanmar, and is working to bring stability to the situation. Recently, with China's mediation and assistance, Tatmadaw, and MNDAA, TNLA and AA held peace talks in China and reached an agreement regarding issues such as a temporary ceasefire and maintaining talks. Currently, the number of conflicts in northern Myanmar has decreased significantly. It is in line with the interests of all relevant parties in Myanmar and is also helpful for maintaining stability and peace in the China-Myanmar border region. China hopes to speed up the implementation of the agreements reached by the relevant parties in Myanmar, work to maintain mutual cooperation as much as possible, reduce the tension in the current situation, manage sudden incidents in a timely manner, and hope to bring about a smooth landing of the situation in northern Myanmar together.

Based on the last meeting, there will be another meeting between NSPNC and MNDAA, TNLA and AA at the end of this month, said Major General Zaw Min Tun, spokesman for the SAC.
