Aerial power cables in Taungoo to be relocated for bypass railway and urban expansion project

As the construction of a bypass railway and a new town expansion project will be carried out in Taungoo, the aerial power cables that are located in the project area will be relocated.

On December 24, Union Minister for Electric Power U Nyan Tun, along with departmental officials, inspected the construction of a bypass railway and the relocation of aerial power cables that are existed in the new town expansion project area in Taungoo, Bago Region, and the transmission and distribution of power from the 230 KV Myaungtakha Main Substation in Hmawby Township, Yangon Region to the Myaungtakha Industrial Zone.

The Union Minister and his team arrived in Taungoo and inspected the relocation of aerial power cables that are located in the new town expansion project area during the construction of the bypass railway and the relocation of aerial power cables that are included in the new town expansion project area. The officials explained the plans for the relocation of aerial power cables s, the measures to be taken to complete the work on time and restore power supply within the specified date.

Then, the Union Minister inspected the situation of the relocation of 230 KV and 33 KV aerial power cables that are not free from the construction of the suburban railway and the relocation of 33 KV power lines, 11 KV and 400 volt power lines that are not free from the new town expansion project area. He said that everyone should make efforts to complete the relocation of power lines as soon as possible, that the work equipment should meet the standards, that there should be no waste and that it should be completed on time, and that the materials from the dismantling of the old power lines should be systematically recorded and stored.

Afterwards, the Union Minister and his team visited the 500 KV Phayargyi Substation project being implemented by the Department of Power Transmission and System Control in Bago Township and inspected the construction of the control building and switch yard, and the installation of transformers, shunt reactors, and hybrid gas insulated switchgear (HGIS).

The 500 KV Phayargyi Substation project currently under construction is 92 percent complete, and efforts are being made to complete the entire project.

Next, the Union Minister and his team visited the 230 KV Myaungtakha Main Substation of the Department of Power Transmission and System Control in Hmawby Township, Yangon Region, where officials explained the information about the substation and the power transmission and distribution to the Myaungtakha Industrial Zone.

In response to the presentations, the Union Minister emphasized the need to reduce power outages and power losses, regular inspections of electrical equipment, transformers, and power lines at the substation to ensure their strength. The Union Minister inspected the power transmission and reception in the power control room, the power transmission and distribution to the Myaungtakha Industrial Zone, and the power regulation and distribution of power lines and transformers in the switch yard.
