In a message to mark the 70th anniversary of Kayin State Day on November 11, Acting President and Chairman of the Stat Security and Peace Commission (SSPC), Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, expressed his sorrow that some areas of Kayin State, which used to be peaceful and peaceful, are now suffering from lack of peace and stability, the message said.
The message said that since independence, due to the colonial rule, ethnic brothers have been divided and mistrusted, and that peace and stability have been disrupted by armed conflicts in Kayin State.
The message stated that the NCA, which are the essence of the state and the stability of the internal peace and internal peace outcomes, have been implemented with utmost care, and that ethnic armed groups have signed and cooperated with each other.
However, since the 2020 election fraud, the Tatmadaw has taken over in accordance with the constitution, and some ethnic armed groups have turned a blind eye to the truth and increased violence, including in Kayin State, according to the message.
Therefore, it is sad that some areas of Kayin State, which used to be peaceful and where ethnic people lived peacefully and freely, are now without peace and stability and the people are suffering, he said in the message.
Therefore, he would like to inform those concerned that it is time to face the truth and focus on the peace and stability of the state, he said.
The Acting President and SSPC Chairman sent a message stating that the country will continue to work hard to achieve peace, stability, and full rule of law and development despite the difficulties.
In addition, the message also states that efforts are being made to successfully hold elections in line with the objectives of the National Defence and Security Council.
The Union Election Commission, by its Announcement No. (55/2025) dated August 18, 2025, announced that the first phase of the multiparty democratic general election for each parliament will be held on December 28, 2025 in 102 townships, and that the second phase of the election will be held on January 11, 2026 in 100 townships, and that the dates for the subsequent elections will be announced, the message states.
In the message, it urged the Union Election Commission, the relevant regions, states, and ministries to set goals and work towards achieving them in order to successfully hold a free and fair multiparty democratic general election, ensure that the rights of all eligible voters are not violated, and to ensure a fair, just, and dignified general election, so that the socio-economic development of each person is promoted.
The Acting President also urged the ethnic people to cooperate in combating the incitement and threats of terrorism by terrorist organizations that do not want the stability of the country and which opposing the government.
The message states that he believes that the government, together with the people, will be able to overcome any difficulties, crises, and challenges that may befall the country and the nation, based on the true spirit of the union and patriotism of the ethnic people.
The message states that all ethnic brothers and sisters living in the state must work together to create a more peaceful and prosperous Kayin State.
In addition, the Acting President sent a message urging all ethnic brothers and sisters to overcome the difficulties and challenges they will encounter and make efforts with the collective strength to build the great state that the ethnic people desire today, a truly disciplined multiparty democracy and a great union based on democracy and federalism.
