A military MP died from COVID-19 on Oct 20: army

Col. Ohn Cho, a military MP for Amyotha Hluttaw, died from COVID-19 at Defence Services Liver Hospital in the morning of October 20, said Brig-Gen Zaw Min Htun from Tatmadaw True News Information Team.

“He was admitted to the hospital last week and died at 10 am on October 20,” said Brig-Gen.

The Amyotha Hluttaw made an announcement on October 20 that Col. Ohn Cho died on October 20 and he was terminated from his duties at the Amyotha Hluttaw in line with 2015 Amyotha Hluttaw Law Section 113, Sub-sector (f).

Col. Ohn Cho attended Defence Services Academy (DSA) and was from 26th Intake of the DSA. He was a member of Non-governmental Organizations and International Non-governmental Organizations Committee for Amyotha Hluttaw. He left a wife and three children.

He won a medal and a certificate for gallantry awarded by Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services, according to the record of the committee.

He is the most senior military officer among military personnel who died with the COVID-19 and five soldiers including a Lt-Col. died with the virus.
