A local was killed in a shooting that took place near Hsinma Ai village of Kalaywa Township, Sagaing Region, according to the Ministry of Information (MOI).

The MOI also reported that a school and 65 houses were torched in the shooting.

MOI report announced that the PDF members attacked the security forces stationed near Hsinma Ai village with heavy weapons in two separate shootings on July 15. Later, the security forces returned fire on the PDF members who retreated after suffering thier losses.

After the shootings, 65 houses and an affiliated Basic Education Middle School were burnt down and a civilian was killed. Some members of the security force including a villager were injured due to the shootings, according to the MOI announcement.
