95 Covid-19 cases, one death reported in Myanmar

Myanmar reported 95 new Covid-19 confirmed cases and one death during a 24-hour period from 8pm September 4 to 8pm September 5, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Health (MOH).

The latest cases—five overseas returnees and 90 community cases— were reported after 7,884 lab samples had been tested.

Till 8pm on September 5, the number of Covid-19 cases in the country reached 615,654 and the number of deaths 19,441. In the same period, 22 patients were discharged from hospital after their recoveries.

Covid-19 lab samples are tested in the labs under the MOH, using GeneXpert machines in hospitals in Nay Pyi Taw, all regions and states, at No.1 1,000-Bed Military Hospital in Yangon, at No.2 1,000-Bed Military Hospital in Nay Pyi Taw, at No.9 100-Bed Military Hospital in Lashio, at private hospitals and labs and using COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Diagnostic Test in hospitals and public health departments in all regions and states including Nay Pyi Taw.
