Eighty eight Chinese citizens living illegally in Thingangyun Township will be sent back to their country, and plans are underway to take legal action against the landlord and company that failed to report to authorities, said an official from the Yangon Region Ministry of Immigration and Human Resources. 

“There are 88 Chinese people living in both houses who failed to report. Of them, 18 were sent back by China Eastern Airline on March 23. The remaining will be sent back as scheduled. They need to return because they must report to the township immigration department with Form C that requires reporting to the department within 24 hours after their arrivals. Action will be taken against the landlord and the company concerned. 

Authorities ordered the seizure of the visas of 120 Chinese citizens following the complaint that they were collectively living in two houses in Thingangyun Township and grossly exceeding the acceptable number of dwellers. 

The authorities came to check the two houses at about 9 pm on March 21 after the neighbors sent complaints to authorities that those houses accommodated the exceeded number of people.
