The results from the reference laboratory in Thailand and local laboratory have shown that 11 patients under investigation of the coronavirus tested negative, according to the Ministry of Health and Sports.

The lab results came on February 20. Those 11 patients who tested negative for the virus are two from Mandalay General Hospital, two from Lashio Township Hospital, one from Taungtha Township Hospital, two from Myittha Township Hospital and four from Waibargi Specialist Hospital. Until February 21, there is only one patient left under investigation of the virus.

The coronavirus has spread to 26 countries including China. Till February 21, Myanmar had no confirmed cases but had 38 patients under investigation and two suspects totalling 40. Of them, 38 people visited China, two visited Singapore and two who had no history of visiting China.

According to the figures from the World Health Organization available on February 21 morning, there were 75,748 confirmed cases across the globe. The number included 65 in Hong Kong, 10 in Macao and 24 in Taiwan outside mainland China. A total of 2,121 people had died.
