10th Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Senior Officials’ Meeting held

The 10th Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Senior Officials’ Meeting was held at Thanlwin Hall of the Jasmine Naypyitaw Hotel on November 3.

The Meeting was co-chaired by Daw Marlar Than Htaik, Director-General of the International Organizations and Economic Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar and Mr Nong Rong, Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.

The Meeting was attended by Mr Meas Kim Heng, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, Mr. Somboun Sihanath, Director-General of Department of Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Laos, Ms.Pinsuda Jayanama, ambassador attached to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Thailand's Senior Official for Mekong Cooperation, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy, deputy DG of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam.

After the meeting, Director-General Daw Marlar Than Htaik hosted a lunch in honour of delegations to the 10th MLC SOM at the same Hotel.

Mekong-Lancang Cooperation was established in 2016 with an aim to assist regional efforts to achieve sustainable inclusive development and narrow development gaps in the region while promoting peace and prosperity. Cambodia, China, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam are the members of the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation.

Myanmar and China have been serving as the Co-chairs of the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation.
