No injuries as bus catches fire near Ye Township

A bus from Mawlamyaing-Zephyuthaung Bus Line burst into flames on Ye-Mawlamyaing road in Tuemyaing village-tract, Mon State, around noon yesterday.

The bus had eight passengers, including a driver and a conductor, on board at the time of the incident.

According to an official from Ye Township rescue team, the fire originated from the engine compartment of the bus, which was passing by the 586-military unit at the entrance of Ye Township. The fire was quickly put out by the Ye Township Fire Brigade, Aung Mingalar rescue team and Aung Myitta Auxiliary Fire Bridge, who arrived at the scene shortly after receiving the report.

None of the passengers or the bus crew were injured in the fire. They were later taken to Zephyuthaung village by a vehicle from Aung Myitta rescue team. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
