Myanmar’s Union Minister for Electricity and Energy, U Ko Ko Lwin, attended the 30th Energy and Ecology Forum in Minsk, Belarus, on October 27, where he urged foreign partners to invest in Myanmar’s energy sector.
Speaking during the plenary session titled "Developing Energy, Developing the Economy," the minister highlighted Myanmar’s strategic position as a bridge between the Indian and Pacific Oceans. He invited friendly nations to explore partnerships in oil and gas exploration, renewable energy, LNG development, and refinery upgrades to tackle the country's energy challenges and bolster energy security.
During the visit, both nations signed a bilateral "Roadmap on Cooperation." The agreement focuses on modernizing Myanmar's power grid, minimizing transmission and distribution losses, deploying smart power generation and smart grid technologies, and providing technical training for Myanmar personnel at vocational schools and universities across Belarus.
