Union Minister for Health Dr Soe Win has urged healthcare personnel to provide patients with warm, compassionate care and to carry out their duties responsibly and with a strong sense of commitment.
On October 13, Dr Soe Win, accompanied by officials, inspected the installation and operation of diagnostic equipment, including CT scanners, CXR rooms, USG rooms, mammography machines, DEXA scanners and fluoroscopes, at the Radiology Department of the new seven-storey building at Yangon General Hospital. He also reviewed the use of angiography for diagnosing and treating heart diseases, as well as diagnostic equipment and classrooms at the hospital’s laboratory and microbiology departments.
He then visited Medical Ward (1), where he observed medical students attending classes and instructed them to provide patients with warm, compassionate care and to perform their duties responsibly. He also visited patients in the High Dependency Unit and the Bone Marrow Transplant Center, where he encouraged five patients who were in good health and preparing for discharge and presented them with food.
In addition, he inspected the diplomatic rooms and met with professors, department heads and professors of various medical specialties at the Training Center. He urged them to adhere to medical ethics, further improve healthcare services for the benefit of the public, and provide quality medical care to all patients with compassion and a positive attitude, regardless of race, religion or social status, in order to reduce the financial burden of healthcare on patients.
