More than US$2 million worth of trade was conducted through the new border trade camp in Kachin State between September 1 and 25, according to the Kachin State Government.

A total of 61 vehicles conducted import and export transactions worth US$2.667 million during the period, the Kachin State Government said in a social media post.

The Kachin State chief minister inspected the new trade camp on September 26 and met with members of the One-Stop Service (OSS) team of the Kanpaiti Border Trade Station. Discussions focused on ensuring the normal and smooth flow of goods, expediting trade procedures, and preventing shortages of essential food commodities in the region in accordance with relevant procedures and directives.

The new trade camp was opened on August 29, and the Kachin State chief minister has personally conducted field inspections there at least four times.

The trade camp was previously located beyond Warshon Village. It has since been relocated to a plot of more than five acres owned by Swut Bum Company, situated along the Myitkyina–Weipar–Warshon main road.

The Kanpaiti Border Trade Station is located about 85 miles from Myitkyina and borders Tengchong Township in Baoshan Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China. It is approximately 51 miles from Tengchong city.
