The Yangon–Toegyaunggalay–Dagon University train service will operate daily starting September 1, according to reports.

The Myanma Railways under the Ministry of Transport will operate 12 passenger train trips per day—six outbound and six return trips—to facilitate travel for passengers and students. Train Nos. N-1, N-3, N-5, N-7, N-9 and N-11 will run from Yangon to Toegyaunggalay and Dagon University, while Train Nos. N-2, N-4, N-6, N-8, N-10 and N-12 will operate from Dagon University to Toegyaunggalay and Yangon. The services will use battery-powered locomotives and six ordinary-class carriages, each capable of carrying 62 passengers.

To accommodate Dagon University students, whose classes begin at 8 am, Train N-1 will depart Yangon Central Railway Station at 6:15 am and arrive at Dagon University Station at 7:30 am For students finishing classes at 3 pm, Train N-10 will depart Dagon University Station at 3:15 pm and arrive at Yangon Central Railway Station at 4:35 pm. The remaining trains will operate according to the designated timetable and stop at Pazundaung, Mahlwagone, Hnin Si Kone, Thingangyun, Nga Moe Yeik and Toegyaunggalay stations. The fare will be 500 kyats per passenger regardless of the destination station.

In addition, Myanma Railways is operating passenger services on major routes, including Yangon–Mandalay, Yangon–Pyay and Yangon–Mawlamyine, as well as the Yangon Circular and suburban lines. Passenger services are also being operated on routes including Pathein–Hinthada–Kyangin, Pyinmana–Taungdwingyi, Yangon–Pyay–Bagan, Myitkyina–Mohnyin, Thazi–Shwenyaung and Letpadan–Thayawady.  If passenger and student numbers on the Yangon–Dagon University service increase significantly, additional trains will be added, according to Myanma Railways.
