Reference prices for fuel have declined this week, according to price announcements issued by the Fuel Import, Storage and Distribution Supervisory Committee.
According to the prices announced on August 14, the reference price for 92 Ron gasoline was set at 3,650 kyats per litre, while 95 Ron gasoline was priced at 3,770 kyats per litre. Regular diesel (HSD) was priced at 4,020 kyats per litre, and premium diesel (PHSD) at 4,870 kyats per litre, according to the Ministry of Energy.
Last week, the reference prices were 3,840 kyats per litre for 92 Ron gasoline, 3,950 kyats for 95 Ron gasoline, 4,155 kyats for regular diesel (HSD) and 5,050 kyats for premium diesel (PHSD).
Compared with the previous week, the price of 92 Ron gasoline has fallen by 190 kyats per litre, while 95 Ron gasoline has dropped by 180 kyats. Regular diesel has decreased by 135 kyats per litre, and premium diesel has fallen by 180 kyats.
Fuel stations are continuing to distribute and sell fuel as usual, according to the Ministry of Energy.
The ministry said it is systematically regulating and supervising fuel use to prevent waste and ensure that there are no fuel shortages. It also said fuel consumption has been declining significantly as consumers purchase only the amounts they need using QR codes and barcodes.
