Field surveys will be conducted on islands in the Myeik Archipelago to assess the implementation of solar power systems and konjac cultivation projects, according to sources.

On July 20, discussions were held in Kawthaung, Tanintharyi Region, between a regional parliament representative and business investors regarding potential investment opportunities. Prior coordination meetings were also conducted between Regional Hluttaw Representative U Zaw Zaw Tun and business entrepreneurs, according to a participant who attended the discussions.

The talks focused on potential investments in island and village communities within Kawthaung District and Myeik District that currently lack access to electricity. Proposed projects include generating and distributing electricity through solar power systems, cultivating konjac crops, and establishing local development initiatives such as konjac drying facilities and konjac powder-processing mills. These ventures are expected to be implemented through cooperative partnerships with local residents.

It was reported that Regional Hluttaw Representative U Zaw Zaw Tun and business investors reached a mutual understanding on development plans aimed at promoting regional economic growth. To facilitate the implementation of these projects, field visits and feasibility studies will soon be carried out in townships, islands, and villages across Kawthaung and Myeik districts. These surveys will assess local conditions and identify suitable locations for investment and development activities.
